Neighborhood Services
The following is a brief description of the services provided in the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood:
| Covenant Enforcement Services | The HOA is responsible for enforcing the covenants within the Buckhorn Valley community. The HOA contracts with its management company to provide these services. The HOA's board establishes enforcement policies and monitors the enforcement services provided by the management company. |
| Architectural Review Services | The HOA is responsible for providing architectural review services to homeowners in the Buckhorn Valley community. The HOA has assigned this responsibility to its board of directors. The board is responsible for evaluating whether each homeowner request complies with the community's architectural design guidelines (a copy of which can be downloaded from the document library on this website). |
| Snow Plowing - Streets | The streets around the single family homes are owned and maintained by the Town of Gypsum. Thus, the Town is responsible for plowing the snow off of the streets around the single family homes. Per the Town's current snow plow plan for the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood, the Town will first plow those streets on the school district bus route. Other City streets in the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood are plowed if needed - as determined by the Town. NOTE: Private streets are NOT plowed by the Town. Such streets include White River Drive, Hawks Nest Lane, Wolf Creek Drive, Steamboat Drive, and the roads of Mountain Gateway. The respective HOAs are responsible for plowing snow on the private roads within these HOAs. |
| Snow Plowing - Sidewalks | The HOA is responsible for plowing the snow off of all sidewalks located on the parks and open spaces (which includes the sidewalk surrounding the perimeter of the park areas). Typically, the HOA contracts this service through its landscaper. Homeowners are responsible for plowing snow around their own lots. |
| Garbage Collection | With the exception of Aspen Ridge HOA - which provides weekly trash pick up services for its HOA members - all other Buckhorn Valley residents must individually contract with a trash hauling company. |
| Street Parking Enforcement | The Town (through its police department) establishes and enforces ordinances regarding parking on all Town-owned streets throughout the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood. Streets within the Buckhorn Valley community NOT controlled by the Town of Gypsum are as follows: – Steamboat Drive and Wolf Creek Drive within the Aspen Ridge subdivision – Hawks Nest Lane and White River Drive in the Hawks Nest subdivision – Internal road/parking slots within Mountain Gateway subdivision |
| Open Space Landscaping Maintenance | The parks and open spaces throughout the community are owned by either the HOAs or the Town of Gypsum. Specifically, the Town owns and maintains five land tracts within the community (211-101-18-017, 211-101-18-015, 211-112-12-001, 211-101-37-003, 211-113-04-002). |
| Park Equipment Maintenance | The HOAs and Town of Gypsum own and maintain the playground equipment in the parks and open spaces owned by each respective entity. |
| Graffiti Removal | Generally, property owners are responsible for removing graffiti off of their fences and other structures. |
| Street Light Maintenance | The Town of Gypsum is responsible for maintaining certain street lights throughout the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood. The street lights NOT maintained by the Town include the following: five light poles on Steamboat Dr (pole #3983, #3996, #3993, #3992 and #3991), one pole on Wolf Creek Dr. (pole #3989), one pole on Hawks Nest (pole #5077) and two poles on White River (pole #5075 and #5076). Any maintenance issues or concerns regarding street lights NOT owned by Town of Gypsum should be directed to Holy Cross Electric Association. |
| School Busing | The Buckhorn Valley neighborhood is located within the Eagle County School District. Consequently, homeowners should contact the school district for further information regarding school bus schedules. |
| Mail Delivery | Mail is delivered Monday through Saturday of each week by the US Post Office. Mail for the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood is processed through the US Post Office branch located at 100 Oak Ridge Ct in Gypsum, CO 81637. The Post Office phone number is (800) 275-8777. The HOA is responsible for maintaining and repairing the community mail boxes throughout the Buckhorn Valley neighborhood. |
